Benefits of Making Prostitution Legal

Legalizing prostitution would make the lives of sex workers better and more beneficial. According to a BBC survey, it was found that when sex workers demand that customers use condoms, they do not and become cruel to workers. This leads to dangerous sexual intercourse, due to which there is a significant level of diseases such as HIV/AIDS and various diseases. Legalization would push customers to use condoms compulsorily, and sex workers can also perform a normal verification of the equivalent. When people argue that prostitution should be illegal, in many cases their concern comes from a place of morality portrayed as a concern for women`s health and safety. People believe that legalizing prostitution will only lead to the abuse of more women, make it harder for prostitutes to get out of the industry, or teach young women that their bodies exist only for the purpose of sexual exploitation by men. In 1950, the Indian government approved the International Convention on Combating Immoral Trafficking in Persons and Exploitation of the Prostitution of Others. In 1956, India passed the Suppression of Immoral Trafficking in Women and Girls (SITA) Act 1956. The exhibition was also modified in 1986, the law on the prevention of immoral trafficking being in any case called PITA.

Improper Traffic Prevention Act, 1986 PITA only looks at management because it indicates prostitution and does not compare it to various inspirations that animate management, for example, neighborhood work, child labor, organ harvesting, etc. Then comes a structure of game plans in this law that identifies with children under the age of 18. The show depicts a child like any eighteen-year-old. The main part of the show has options of action that represent the bad behavior of prostitution and the order for the execution of a whore`s house or an institution of amount or to live with the wages of prostitution as by a pimp. It is true that the current efforts of various European countries to legalize prostitution have been far from perfect. In the Netherlands, certain elements of the legislation, such as the requirement for sex workers to register and the setting of the minimum age for prostitution at 21, could push more sex workers into illegal markets. Not only that, but studies suggest that legalizing prostitution can increase human trafficking. But even those who criticize the legalization of prostitution can see the benefits that the legislation can have in terms of working conditions for sex workers. While countries with laws spend more time listening to current sex workers, the results of decriminalizing prostitution include ensuring the safety and respect of a population that has traditionally been deprived of such things. The underlying reason why people are not comfortable listening to sex workers when it comes to legalizing prostitution has nothing to do with concern for women`s health and safety.

If that were the real concern, prostitution would now be legal in the United States. The reason people disagree with the legalization of prostitution is that prostitution is considered amoral because it involves (primarily) women selling their bodies for profit. However, telling women what they can and cannot do with their bodies does not come from a place of morality: it comes from a place of control. The main reason for prostitution is POVERTY and UNEMPLOYMENT. Nowadays, there is so much poverty that encourages people to prostitute themselves. Due to unemployment, many people opt for prostitution in order to be able to earn money from this work. The World Health Organization has also condemned the criminalization of sex work and supported research in the medical journal The Lancet, which shows that decriminalizing prostitution would help reduce the rate of sexually transmitted infections, particularly HIV/AIDS. We legalize and regulate many morally controversial businesses – such as gambling, alcohol, tobacco, lap dance and pornography.

Yes, women can be forced into prostitution. But we don`t help them by doing consensual sex work a crime. Growing support for women`s rights as workers is an important step towards the stability and protection of prostitutes. The Netherlands is just one example of an effective regulatory system in which prostitution is legalized and health and safety standards are enforced. This type of public policy on sex allows the government to enforce codes and regulations that are beneficial to both the employee and the client. Legalization does not necessarily mean that the public approves of prostitution practices, but it does guarantee sex workers a decent life and a safer working environment. The overall benefits of legalizing prostitution are considerable and could prove to be an advantage in the fight against global poverty. Nevada only allows prostitution in licensed brothels that regularly test workers for sexually transmitted infections.

While Love isn`t the first to observe that legal prostitution can be relatively safe, Nevada`s rural counties are the only place in America where the world`s oldest profession is officially licensed. Pimps have these kinds of illegal prostitutes in their power because women can`t find a way out. In addition, they do not have as easy access to health care as legal workers. Although a charity in Antwerp provided free medical care to illegal sex workers, some of these women did not feel safe accepting the aid. A brothel is a place where sex workers stay in a group for prostitution. If someone runs a brothel, he will be punished by law. Legal workers in America have rights such as minimum wage, freedom from discrimination, and a safe working environment. Since prostitutes do not work legally, they do not enjoy any of these rights. Legalizing prostitution would give the police security in crisis situations. Illegal prostitution faces many problems. Women are in inconvenience. In addition, these ladies did not refuse any good help.

Providing protection would prevent savagery and protect prostitutes from brutal clients. It is high time to legalize and regulate this part of American life, even though many people have ethical problems with it. Prostitution is an incredibly dangerous profession for the (mostly) women involved; Sexual assault, forced substance abuse, physical violence and death are common in the industry. For women who work in this field, it is often very difficult to get help or get out of it. Many sex workers were trafficked for sex at a very young age and do not have the resources to escape forced prostitution, or they voluntarily started as sex workers and later became victims of sex trafficking. Because prostitution is illegal in most places in the United States, there are few legal protections for prostitutes; Many fear that seeking help will only lead to arrest, and many of those who seek help will be arrested and then have to struggle with the stigma of a criminal record as they try to reintegrate into society. There will always be lonely or messy men in America who pay for sex, and there will always be women willing to praise their bodies. As anthropologist Patty Kelly writes in the Los Angeles Times, prostitution has become a “part of our culture” in the United States. Before the beginning of the 20th century, the Netherlands had abolished prostitution through national legislation. Everyone involved has been criminalized.

Public opinion and its implementation gradually became more lenient, which led to a more acceptable attitude towards prostitution as a way of life. The tension between national law and local politics has led to an increasingly contradictory system. This eventually led to the passage of a law in 1983 that gave municipal authorities the power to regulate prostitution. This new law in the Netherlands has decriminalised both sex workers and companies. Local authorities monitor the conditions under which prostitution is permitted. Industry standardization implements prescribed health and safety regulations, such as running water, access to condoms, and emergency exits. Most importantly, these reforms enable prostitutes to work in legal and satisfactory conditions and to fully respect the legal, social and labour rights that meet many, but not all, demands of sex workers` organizations. It would be the worst thing about legalizing prostitution that it could increase child prostitution.

In India, poverty is at its peak. Everyone wants to make money. People who use children as workers without knowing the importance of education can force these children into prostitution in order to earn more money. While working on my novel about African women in Antwerp`s red light district, I spoke to women who worked illegally in Belgium (and were therefore on the same level as prostitutes in countries where prostitution is illegal). One woman said a police officer who arrested her asked her for bribes. A study by the Independent Institute, a public policy research and education organization, estimated that the rape rate would decrease by about 25 percent, a decrease of about 25,000 rapes per year if prostitution were legalized (the image is free of pixabay.com).
